I’ve never done yoga or meditation, can I Spogaź?

Yes, Spoga was created to be accessible for both the beginner and those with some experience of yoga and meditation. You may want to begin with Simply Spogaź, a more gentle practice. The beginner will have a door opened for them in everyday easy-to-understand language. Those with more experience will enjoy adding the all-inclusive aspect of Spoga to their current practice.

Tell me about the anti-aging aspect of Spoga…

Originally developed for men, the Five Tibetan rites activate the chakra system…Spoga has modified and adapted these moves for women. By starting with Simply Spoga and working your way up to Spoga you will be transforming the body, mind and spirit, putting the aging process on hold. In addition to the chakra activation and a major increase in energy you’ll be incorporating breath work (aids mental connection and stress release) flexibility work ("a flexible spine is a youthful spine"), weight bearing moves (for bone integrity), a guided meditation and relaxation (to ground and center) all of these components work in concert to create a vibrant, energetic, healthy body/mind and spirit. Doing Spoga and Simply Spoga consistently is like going on a vacation…you have that relaxed, yet energetic feel and look about you.

What makes Spoga and Simply Spoga different from “regular” yoga?

Spoga combines and adapts the best of the best physical and spiritual practices into a 30-minute workout…we’ve borrowed from Hatha, Kundalini and Tibetan yoga, plus, Qigong, Pilate’s and aerobics…we’ve pulled it all together using “Espiritu” which is Latin for the breath, incorporating “life force” into this practice via, conscious breath work. Spoga is the best of what yoga has to offer, additionally it activates the chakra system via The Five Spogans which are borrowed from centuries old Tibetan rites…these rites, or movements, specifically active each chakra and when cleared these chakra allow the life force or chi to move throughout the body more effectively…the body is more efficient, a vibrant youthful glow occurs…you turn back the hands of time. These moves have been nicknamed, The Fountain of Youth.

Can you tell me more about the original Tibetan Rites?

Legend has it that hidden in the remote reaches of the Himalayan mountains lies a secret that would have saved Ponce de Leon from years of fruitless searching. There, generations of Tibetan monks have passed down a series of exercises with mystical, age-reversing properties. Known as the Tibetan Rites of Rejuvenation or the Five Rites, these once-secret exercises are now available and gently modified into Spoga, a 30-minute mind/body anti-aging workout for women. Colonel Bradford, a mysterious retired British army officer who learned of the rites while journeying high up in the Himalayas is credited with bringing these rites to the west. The Spoga DVD offers practical visual and auditory instructions for each of the five rites, renamed Spogans, which resemble yoga postures. Taking just minutes a day to perform; the benefits for practitioners have included increased energy, weight loss, better memory, new hair growth, pain relief, better digestion, and just feeling younger.

What’s a chakra…I have never heard of them?

A chakra is an energy center or vortex that is in your body. Each chakra is associated with a gland in the endocrine system and an organ. Starting at the base of your spine and working all the way through the crown of your head these spinning energy centers are an indicator of our vitality. When chakras get blocked we begin to age, slow down and deteriorate. The best way to regain a youthful body and achieve greater vitality is to get these energy centers unblocked and spinning properly...this is exactly what Spoga does for us.

I feel over-whelmed and stressed-out can Spoga help?

Absolutely, Spoga was developed using the best-of-the-best practices for reducing stress combining breathing exercises developed from Harvard's Mind Body Institute, a grounding exercise used by Native American Indians to connect themselves with nature to receive that calming effect, a dose of meditation and a brief yogic flow called the Five Spogans based on the ancient Five Tibetan Rites, which activate your energy centers called chakra. Spoga is a stress solution.

How often do I need to do Spoga?

The consistent repetition of each aspect of Spoga will reap huge rewards when you commit to doing them at least several times a week. Doing Spoga or Simply Spoga daily is ideal, especially since it is only a 30-minute practice. Could you eliminate a half hour of television to achieve vitality, reverse the hands of time and reduce stress?

What benefit will I derive from doing Spoga?

Spoga has a wide range of benefits...reduced stress, lower blood pressure, increased sexual energy, ability to focus and be more productive, a more efficient immune system, aids in the digestive process, a sense of peace, calm and well-being in high stress situations, a youthful flexible spine equals better posture and moving with grace, hormonal “leveling” means you’ll be less “emotional”, many women site reduced menopausal symptoms, plus, an increase in self-esteem, to name a few. There is also the aspect of connecting to your higher power and the blissful feeling that experience creates.

What about the spiritual aspect of Spoga?

Spoga is a spiritual practice in that it connects you to your body and your higher power, however you name or refer to that power. By consistently doing the Spoga practices you are strengthening your spiritual muscle. Picture the difference between a jittery, self-conscious teenage girl and a centered graceful woman that embodies goddess qualities. One is emotionally unstable, easy to knock off balance, difficult to be around and the other is calm, quietly vibrant and at ease moving through life. That ease and “centered-ness” is the spiritual muscle we're talking about...when it's strong it's there to support us. And, that centered graceful being attracts good things eliminating struggle…life becomes effortless. Spoga and Simply Spoga are the practical tools/applications that help you achieve a sense of grace and Goddess aura.

Speaking of muscles will I trim-up and lose weight?

You will probably not lose a lot of weight from the calories you burn during Spoga, however, as your Chakra are activated you find yourself being better to yourself, not over-eating or self-sabotaging. Because of this sense of well being you will find yourself eating less, naturally. The end result may be a loss of weight. You will notice with time slimmer waist, thighs and buttocks, plus more toned legs, arms, back and tummy. Plus, after three months of consistently doing Spoga your double chin will disappear.

Should I Spoga or Simply Spoga?

Simply Spoga allows you to slow down and connect while still moving your body - it's a place to start if you haven't been physically active in a while or you want a break from your normal rigorous routine. Simply Spoga is a gentle mind/body/spirit workout that is both time efficient and an excellent opportunity to “connect” and “plug-in”. Simply Spoga is the place to begin your vitality journey as you are gaining strength and working your way up to the full Spoga practice. Do Spoga when you really want to get your energy flowing; you have likely achieved a level of mastery with the Simply Spoga practice. And, you are ready to take your connection of mind/body and spirit to the next level! You may choose to Spoga in the morning to start off your day full of energy and centered and Simply Spoga at the end of your day to nurture your soul. Always honor your body.
